Formulating Policies


General statement of intent

The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 places the requirement on every employer who has five or more employees to produce a written statement of health and safety policy. The Health and Safety policy demonstrates the employer's commitment to the health, safety and welfare of his employees and others and is intended to provide the basis for the continual improvement of health and safety performance.


The policy identifies the roles and responsibilities for all staff levels within the organisation to enable them to meet their health and safety duties in the day to day management of health and safety.



Arrangements are required to be in place to address all of the elements relevant to the health and safety hazards and risks that affect the organisation for the purpose of achieving good health and safety management.

Our Services



We will carry out a management systems audit of you organisation and provide you with the action points required to bring your organisation up to standard whereby you will be meeting the statutory requirements as required by the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. Policy, organisational responsibilities, competent persons, training, communication, consultation, identification and implementation of control measures etc. can all be identified and where necessary, training provided for your employees to help manage in future.

A full follow-up report will be provided indicating what you are required to do to improve the health and safety management within your organisation.








We offer a service aimed at identifying your current status in relation to meeting regulatory requirements, identifying what needs done and providing you with possible solutions ranging from training, assessment, management systems etc.




We can carry out workplace inspections for you that will identify the hazards and risks from work activities, equipment, processes and work environment that could lead to accidents and ill-health to your employees and others who could be affected by your operations as well as threaten the well-being of your organisation as a whole. The inspection will be supported by a fully prioritised report for action in easily understood jargon-free language.














Risk assessment

Employers have statutory duties to carry out risk assessments under various regulations and require “Competent persons” to assess all risks arising from the work activities and the work environment their employees are involved and operating in.


Risk Assessment is aimed at identifying the significant risks associated with various work situations that could lead to accidental injuries or health problems, damage to plant and equipment, neighbouring businesses and the population likely to be affected by the operations as well as the business as a whole. The process aims to identify problems before they are realised thus preventing rather than curing the effects of the risks arising.

We will provide a qualified consultant to carry out Risk Assessments on your behalf. This will identify and evaluate the level of risk, prioritise actions for control and identifying appropriate control measures to help prevent an incident from occurring

Bespoke courses

Many courses can be prepared to suit your specific needs, for example, carrying out workplace inspections, general risk assessment, COSHH assessments, manual handling assessments, display screen assessments, identifying hazards, basic health and safety for operatives, supervisor and manager health and safety awareness.  We can also provide you with induction health and safety sessions for any new employees or as a refresher for existing employees as well as toolbox talks.
